Welcome to the Atlanta Shorinji Kempo Site. The Club is the only Shorinji Kempo practice location in Georgia. Home of the Atlanta Shorinji Kempo Branch, currently operating under the direction of the World Shorinji Kempo Organization, Birmingham, Alabama Branch.


Currently, the Atlanta Shorinji Kempo club meets once a week and includes members who have practiced Shorinji Kempo elsewhere. The club will accept new students starting in January 2011.

Shorinji Kempo is a discipline that emphasizes practical self-defense and application in real world situations. Practice sessions are taught in a friendly, non-competitive environment and students are taught and encouraged to learn and teach through cooperation and mutual respect. Shorinji Kempo contains a hard system, similar to Karate or other martial arts that focus on punching and kicking and a soft system similar to Jujitsu or Aikido.
